Your Outer Number

Your Outer Number represents how "others see you". Because it is a reflection of how others tend to see you, it can help you to identify some of your talents, characteristics, strengths and weaknesses. We're often blind to our own greatness. The information that the Outer Number can provide, can gives us an understanding of how others may attempt to communicate, connect with and guide us

Your Outer Number can also reflect the "first impression" that you give to others. As you mature, other personality factors can play a role as well. However, this number can help you to better understand how people perceive you, and may offer you some guidance on how best to initially connect with others.

Calculating your Outer Number

The Outer Number is calculated by adding up the values for all of the consonants in your name. You can use your birth name (as it appears on your birth certificate) or you can use the name that most people know you by, as this holds significance too.

Letter Chart

A, J, S = 1

B, K, T = 2

C, L, U = 3

D, M, V = 4

E, N, W = 5

F, O, X = 6

G, P, Y = 7

H, Q, Z = 8

I, R = 9

As an example, consider Paris Hilton. To get her Outer Number, we would add all the values for the consonants in her name: Using the letter chart above, we come up with the following:

P R S H L T N = 7 + 9 + 1 + 8 + 3 + 2 + 5 = 35/8

7 9 1 8 3 2 5

Note that we did not add the number for the vowels (which are in red). The Outer Number is calculated by adding the numbers corresponding to the consonants in your name. Paris, works out to an 8. This means that people see her as having the qualities of an Outer Number 8. If you watch her television shows, and follow her in the news, it might be easier to determine if this adequately describes how we see her.

I can see how she is held up to the celebrity spotlight and seen as a modern day equivalent of a sort of heroine/mythic figure. She does seem to have her own sense of charm, charisma and strength. To get a better picture of her, we would have to analyze her other numbers and see how they influence her personality as well. She does seem to uniquely portray many of the characteristics of the Outer Number 8. Now its your turn! What is your number? How do you think it helps you in your day-to-day life?

Outer Number #1

Those people with an Outer Number of 1 can be seen in a positive light as creative, independent, and inventive. However, when they get caught up in worry, doubt and confusion, they can be seen as needy, gloomy, and dependent.

As you mature, you can experience events that help you to develop the strength and determination to allow you to work through being lonely, and feeling alone while you develop you own ideas and bring about new inventions.

As you mature, you can also experience events that help you to learn about dedication, hard work, and persistence. Others can be drawn to you because of your unique talents, skills and craftsmanship. You'll have many opportunities to see that if you are drawn toward a particular interest, you can benefit greatly by developing the skills needed to pursue it.

Outer Number #2

Others can be drawn to you, because you seem to be connected to a vast network of people and resources. You can be the person that others come to when they need to have meetings arranged or find all the right people to talk to. For you, making alliances and connecting with others can be a very simple process.

You can also be seen as someone who stands up for the rights and needs

of others. You may have deep sense of right and wrong, and can be willing to stand up for those people who can't. You can be very inspiring to others, but you can also draw people to you who simply want to rebel.

As you can be a quiet person, often holding in your own feelings, you can be seen as a dedicated and loyal companion. As you mature, you'll have to learn about standing out, your own authority and leadership skills, so that others can see the real you, rather than a mere reflection of themselves. You can be a great "Robin" to someone else's "Batman", but there will come a time, when you must become the hero of your own story.

Keywords: Cooperative, Communicative, Stubborn, Persistent

Outer Number #3

Others can be drawn to you because of your friendly nature. When there is a social gathering to be planned, you are the one that others come to for guidance and support, as you seem to have an eye for beauty, harmony and creativity. When you've reached a certain level of maturity, your presence can help people to feel welcomed, wanted and invited. You can have the ability to be the "life of the party", but also have the ability to be comforting and caring for those in need.

As you mature, you may have opportunities to learn about caring for others, and making people laugh. You might even be seen as the "class clown" in school. However, you'll have to learn about loyalty, honesty, compassion and integrity, before you can really mature and bring your own unique brand of humor into the world. Without compassion and empathy, you can inflict pain and push others away, rather than making them feel good and allowing them to feel wanted and cared for.

As you mature, you can also become the person others come to for a shoulder to cry on, information and advice. However, without developing integrity and empathy, you can be seen as the "town gossip". You may have to learn that getting caught up in spreading rumors and lies can be destructive for everyone involved. Once you learn this lesson, perhaps through developing kindness, concern, and caring, you can be seen as a loyal confident.

To others, you seem practical, down to earth, dedicated, rational and very knowledgeable. The way in which you carry yourself, exudes a "hands-on" attitude. Others can be drawn to you, when they want to get things done. You can be the person that they come to, to get their leaky pipes fixed fast, the lawn mower blade sharpened, technical advice, or just for an ear to talk to.

As you mature, you'll have the opportunity to learn that you can be a good teacher for others, or you can lead them astray. As others can be drawn to you, because of your confidence and knowledge, they can tend to hand over their power to you. You can then take over the situation, or help them to stand on their own and learn how to solve problems for themselves.

Within a family, those people with an Outer Number 4, can be seen as the authority figure, regardless of sex or age. This can be difficult for children, as they first need to learn about compassion, self-control and self-discipline, before they can step into leadership roles.

Outer Number #5

Others will tend to be drawn to you because of your intuitive, inquisitive, probing, eclectic, and sharp mind. They might feel that you can teach them, or offer them guidance that they couldn't find on their own. As you mature, since you have a strong intuitive nature, you may have many opportunities to learn about trust, honesty and integrity. For you the challenge will be in trusting yourself, versus shutting down and closing out the world, because you don't like the way it works, or you're not willing to understand it.

Also, as you mature, you'll have the opportunity to learn about the value of knowledge and the value of connections with others. You'll have to find a way to balance the two. When you do learn how to balance your needs, you'll find that you can have tremendous insight into everyday problems and situations, which might allow you to pursue careers involving forensics, profiling, politics, teaching or psychology.

As you mature, you'll come to see the difference between offering care and guidance, and being controlling and authoritarian. You'll have to find ways to develop compassion, gratitude and respect. For you it will be important to have personal channels for expressing yourself, so that you have ways to comfort yourself and connect with your own needs, rather than solely being the source of comfort for others.

You'll have the opportunity to learn how to have real empathy and compassion for others, yet still allow them room to grow and make their own mistakes. We all will learn this lesson at one time or other, but it can be especially important for you to learn, as others will often willing put themselves in your care.

You may encounter situations in which you can become entangled, and will need to reach out to others for help and support.

As you mature, you can become successful at activities that require intuition, long range planning, and strategic initiative. Over time you'll learn about patience, discipline and self control. At times, you can be drawn into the darker side of the anti-authority movement and you may need to learn how to deal with issues around rage, confusion and despair before you can be a leader for yourself or others.

However, for the full strength of this number to manifest in your life, you may have to first face down your own demons. You must first become the hero of your own life, before you can be one for others. As you mature, you will gain an understanding of what this means for you, as it can simply mean that you stand up to the office bully, or it could mean that you become a community leader and activist. Within ancient Greek and Roman literature, the hero personality is often portrayed as one who must confront difficult challenges. Perhaps with tricksters, of varying types, occasionally crossing their path. Within our culture today, we see the hero as someone like Superman, Bat Man or Iron Man.
